Around this time last year, a potential client reached out to us from Hawaii asking if we’d be able to deliver to Maui. We went back and forth for a few months about the logistics and shipping, and after speaking with a couple of our past clients, they determined they wanted to move forward with a Tiny Topanga build. We were very excited for the challenge, and knew putting a tiny house on a ship would be a totally new experience for the whole team.
Before we go into the details of the build or the delivery, we have to say how grateful we are to our clients! We had an amazing time in Hawaii and were treated with incredible Hawaiian hospitality. From a welcome basket, to a pizza party, they went above and beyond making us feel at home, so thank you for making the trip even more special!
So we set out to build and deliver a house on an island in the middle of the Pacific. The tiny house traveled from Mexico to San Diego and boarded a ship and headed to Hawaii. Our team of expert drivers were there waiting to bring her home! Up a windy mountain road, and through a narrow and steep driveway, roughly 1 year after our initial consultation, the tiny house is now in its permanent Hawaii home.
The client wanted the Jasmine model, inspired by Shaye’s Tiny Homes Jasmine design, which is similar to the Hazel or Hazie but has an extended bathroom. In this case, the client wanted to use that extra bathroom space for a separate tub and shower, which turned out beautifully with turquoise and stone tile accents.
The client also had a great idea on how to help with ventilation in the closets with custom rattan closets, which our carpenters built in-house. And by the way, the 2nd bedroom fits a king bed!
Complete with custom details in the kitchen and living room, this 33-foot Jasmine is ready for island living!
